The series consists of judicial appointment files kept by the Legal Division of the Office of Governor Bob Taft. These files contain appointment letters, biographical information, resumes, letters of recommendation, and oaths of office of candidates for judicial vacancies on the Ohio Supreme Court and other courts throughout the state. Sub-series I includes files kept by the legal division in general. Sub-series II includes files kept exclusively by William Klatt, Chief Legal Counsel to Governor Taft from 1999 to 2002.
